Nasca culture was a native civilization that appeared during the Pre-Inca era in Peruvian lands, in Nasca province of Ica. The capital Cahuachi was located in the Aja’s river shore. This culture appeared on the I century and disappeared on the VI century. Its influence comes to Pisco in the north part, Arequipa in the South and Ayacucho in the East.

Until VI century A.C the influence increase reaching the higher areas of Ayacucho.

Located at 18 km northeast of the city of Nasca with an extension of 24 km2 and it has been considerate as the biggest adobe ceremonial center in the world. The archeological Italian mission in its three decades of work and investigation has discovered and restored some of the 36 pyramidal temples that are the main attractions such as the Great Pyramid, The Great Temple, and much more.

Admire by yourself this great archeological discovery located in the middle of the desert, we assure you that you will be fascinated by it.

Five minutes away from the hotel you can find the Nasca airport from where you can fly over the wonderful, giant and enigmatic Geoglyphs. You will be immediately amazed by these spectacular figures drawn in the desert such as the Whale (62m.), The Astronaut (32m.), The Monkey (142 m.), The Hummingbird (97m.), The Spider (47m.) and some other figures.

The amazing thing with the Nasca Lines is that they have awakened the interest in their origin, capabilities and skills of the people that built them.

Located at 27 km from Nasca the archeological cemetery of Chauchilla is in Franeas Valley where you would be able to see tombs, mommies and their typical funerary clothes. The cult to the death in the Andean community is reflected in the hundreds of Pre-Hispanic cemeteries that are still remaining in our valleys and the cemetery is one of them.

The mommies are well preserved and regardless to their age in many of them you can see remains of skin and hair.

It is without any doubt the didactic archaeological museum best presented in the southern Region. In the museum you will see the polychromatic textile art and ceramics of the Nasca culture and different archaeological items found by the Italian mission. In the Antonini Museum you will learn in a didactic way more about the evolution of the Nasca culture.

You will find beautiful ceramics, mommies, trophy heads and more remmants of the Nasca culture.

The men on the Nasca culture besides being geodesic engineers, that allowed them to draw the geoglyphs in the desert, also knew the secrets of hydraulic engineering. They demonstrated this by building 36 aqueducts along their valleys with the purpose of obtaining water from the subsoil (Phreatic Napa) thus avoiding drought in their fields.

Nowadays, these aqueducts are still active after 1500 years and they receive many visits from tourist and it is a few minutes from our hotel.

Peruvian Government aware of the present reality has given the order to create intangible areas where geography can be protected, natural water resources, landscapes, flora and fauna, native communities and all that is representative of this region. These protected and intangible areas are part of the System of the Protected Natural Areas by the State or SINANPE.
Enjoy of our Eco-touristic circuits consisting of the aqueducts, the Nasca Lines, the museums, pyramidal temples, etc.
